A KAP session - and a WWII story

Hi all!
.
In March 1945 a B-24 Liberator bomber named Margie the Magnificent crashed into Lake Cerknica, Slovenia. 7 allied airmen were rescued by the Partisans and evacuated a couple days later to their base in Italy. The plane - or what little remained of it - was almost forgotten, until one intrepid local started to put together the whole story and managed to find the remains of Margie one summer when the intermittent lake dried out.
.
The story - with a lot of nice kite aerial photos! - is on our website:

Enjoy, and here are a couple of photos as a teaser ... ;-)

  • Awesome set of images. And a very interesting piece of WWII history.

  • Wonderful KAP pictures and story! Love the winter time shots, especially the ones shots with the kites in the frame.

Glad you are permitted to fly kites in these parks and bird sanctuaries. Here in the US.... the bird folks have blocked most kite flying.....
Keep the flying and taking KAP shots!
